We are excited that you are interested in volunteering with Mardi Gla. We have some very exciting roles for you to consider! Mardi Gla are offering some excellent opportunities for volunteers this year and we are looking to build a strong and successful volunteer family. Wither you are looking to give something back, add to your CV or just have fun doing something exciting, we would LOVE to hear from you.

Below are the roles that we are looking to fill for the Mardi Gla event this year. If there is a skill or strength that you have that you feel would be of benefit to the Mardi Gla volunteer team, we would love to hear from you! You will be what makes the event such a success, without our volunteers, we would never be able to exist!

Parade Stewards:
Our parade stewards are responsible for working closely with the procession manager to assist in the smooth running and safety of our procession. You will be tasked to a specific section of the procession and will be responsible for ensuring the members of that section follow the rules in place to keep them safe during the procession.

Event Guides:
For many people, you will be the first point of contact with Mardi Gla. You will be our “mobile information stations”. People will look to find someone to speak to if they have any questions, you will be fully trained and briefed on all areas of the event. You will also work closely with the community consultation teams to support them in the delivery of the community consultation process.

Community Consultation:
Our community consultation teams will be responsible for working with members of the public attending Mardi Gla. You will be provided with the resources and equipment to speak with those attending to get their feedback and views on the event and the wider LGBT Coop. You will be trained to a high level on your role and will be provided with support from the volunteer management team in carrying out your role.

Event Support Team:
You will be responsible for providing support to all teams at the event. You will be trained in every team and will be asked to
provide cover and support to them as well as responding to calls for assistance to all zones of the
event, this DOES NOT include security issues.

Accreditation Team:
Our accreditation team are responsible for ensuring that all those attending the event have the correct level of access accreditation for their role. You will also be responsible for working with all volunteers ensuring they are clocked in and out of their shifts and keeping the shift system up to date for this. You will be provided with the training and support required for this role.

Fundraising Team:
Our fundraising team will work together before, during and after the event to assist in raising the money required to run the event. You will be asked to attend fundraising events, bucket collections and other planned fundraising activities. All volunteers are invited to join the fundraising team at some point, if you have any ideas for fundraising activities, we would love to hear from you!

All volunteers will be invited to attend an initial induction training session where you will be given full details about the roles we have available as well as more information about the event and the Mardi Gla – Pride Family volunteering team.
